1. Harry Potter Series
I have recently started reading these, as was documented in my “In Which Jessica Finally Reads…” post. You can read that here. But I’m still not 100% in love with the books yet, and everyone I know seems to take this personally.
2. Rick Riordan’s books
I mostly just haven’t picked these books up because they are middle grade and I tend to gravitate toward older YA. Although, after seeing him speak at BEA and knowing how much some of my friends adore his books, I worry about upsetting them if I end up not liking them much as well!
3. Inheritance Series
I’ve heard over and over and over how great this series is. But no matter how many times I read the synopsis, I still cannot seem to get into the premise.
4. Vampire Academy Series
I just really love Richelle Mead’s adult books, and I really don’t want to not like her young adult series! Eventually I will take the plunge, but for now I really want to bask in the glory of how much I just love Mead. 
5. Lemony Snicket
Again, probably wouldn’t like this because it is a little younger than I normally read. In addition, I really don’t like the idea of pissing off a whole bunch of avid fans if I happen to NOT like them.
6. The Vampire Diaries
I love the television series, which is why I am afraid to not like the books.
7. Weetzie Bat Series
Considered a classic in the young adult genre, this is a series that I really don’t want to ruin the illusion of being so wonderful.
8. Hex Hall Series
These look so good and the synopses are just as intriguing, but I hate the idea of not liking something that has such great marketing invested in it. 
9. Ellen Hopkins
She is somewhat legendary at this point with all her books and the different writing structure used in some of her texts, but I really just don’t like any of the parts that I have read when flipping through in the store.
10. Curse Workers Series
I know, it’s almost a cardinal sin that I haven’t read this Holly Black series, but now I’m so excited about The Coldest Girl in Coldtown that I am worried to go backwards in her catalogue.
